Grab a Portal Gun
portal.png

In Valve’s newest game, Portal, you take the role of Chell. She is a test subject for Arperture Science Laboratories’ newest invention, the Portal gun. This device creates a portal, somewhat like a doorway between two places. If you jump through it you come out the other side flying. If you fall into it from a high speed you’ll come out the other at a high speed. So physics aren’t changed.
In Portal, developed by Valve portal_3.jpgCorporation, you are a test subject for the portal gun. You are somewhat forced to complete 19 challenges at the “Enrichment Center” of Arperture Science. GLADOS, the computer artificial intelligence that runs the place, instructs you on new concepts like flinging. Flinging is when you place a portal at the bottom of a cliff and you jump into it at a high distance. You’ll come out the other once at the same speed aportal_4.jpgs you entered the first one. GLADOS says you are offered cake and a party at the end of all 19 challenges. Usually in the first five to eight levels most of the concepts are introduced simply. As you progress through the games they are mixed and are made more complicated like changing angle or surfaces that don’t take portals. It may take a couple of times to try it out, because you kind of realize what the problem is. As you beat each test chamber you are given an in game bonus. You are given a choice of activating developer commentary from the Valve team.
All in all, Portal definitely deserves a 5/5 for being fun, not to challenging, not to easy, and addicting. Visit the official Portal website here. You may want to watch some Youtube videos about it before you buy it. You can buy it separately or bundled in the Orange Box.

Master the Art of Kill

ALERT: MINOR SPOILERS
Take the role of Altair, a master assassin. His position and weapons have been stripped from him. As a last chance to redeem himself, he has to kill nine key figures of the Knights Templar.
In Assassins Creed, you take a step back of around one thousand years and into the shoes of Altair. It is 1191 AD and in three different cities: Jerusalem, Damascus, and Acre. Before you assassinate your target, you must complete investigations to figure out the best route to him. You can interrogate, eavesdrop, pickpocket, or help out a fellow assassin in turn foAssassins_Creed.jpgr information. Once you collected all the information you need, go forge your route to your target. Come from above, be aggressive, be discreet, or from a range. With a long sword, throwing knives, a short sword, and a hidden assassin blade, you choose how you kill. But before you go stabbing anything that moves, you have to remember the three rules of the Assassin Brotherhood: keep your blade from the flesh of the innocent, never draw attention to yourself, and don’t compromise the Brotherhood. Also, you can climb buildings. If anything juts out or in 2 inches, you can use it to climb
This game, developed by Activision and Ubisoft, is one of the best games of 2007. It has mind blowing visuals. As you climb buildings, you can look out over the beautifully designed city. The climbing system is easy to use, but very well made. The combat system lets you fight defensively or offensively, choosassassins_creed_1.jpging to block, counterattack, dodge, or swing with all your strength at them. The enemy can also do all those things, especially the Templars. The Templars are like super soldiers. As soon as they see you, they let out a battle cry and attack. They are the hardest ones to kill. When you are walking through the city, you can choose to be in a low profile mode or a high profile mode. In high profile mode, you tackle, push, and attract attention from people and guards. In low profile mode, you gently push them away, blend in, and become an unsuspicious person. You can also use the assassin blade to kill people without drawing attention. The cut scenes may get boring at times, but mostly they are interesting if you follow the story.
Assassins Creed really deserves a 5/5. It does excellently at making a stealth game. With some of the best graphics and game play, it is a must buy.

Become a Legend

Have you ever wanted to play the guitar well Guitar Hero III puts you right on the stage to play classic rock music from all kinds of bands like Matallica and Gun’s and Rose’s. It was released during 2007 and was a great hit for all ages. It is a game that you have a controller that looks like a guitar and you hit notes as they scroll down near the end of the T.V. screen. It is a great game for all people of all age with songs like Welcome to the Jungle, 3’s and 7’s, and Slow Rider and new Rock music like Striken, and One, and Though The Fire and Flames.
Its has 70 of the loudest biggest songs to meet video games. It features Slash and Tom Merallo which are two great guitarists. When slash was interviewed he said it was weird, he could play a real guitar but couldn’t play a video game of one. He also said that he could beat it on medium but will never be able to master it. But he says that it is a very good game and is really fun to play.
The great thing about this is that there is an Xbox live to it. Which is great for playing other people, you pick your song he/she picks his and then you see who gets the most points at the end. There is also I download were you can download other songs and play them. You have about 10 extra songs that you buy from the market store and can play. You can have great battle on with the bosses and other players on Xbox live or quick play.

Party with Mario

MP1.jpg

For the eighth time, party with Mario, Toad, Yoshi, Princess Peach, and a bunch of Other Mario characters. Nintendo made Mario Party take a leap from the GameCube to the Wii with Mario Party 8 on May 29, 2007 in America. The Wii completely changes how you play the game; it makes you sit up and move around.
Mario Party 8 lets you take the place of all the well-known classic characters like Mario and Luigi. This game has too many minigames to count. You can play them in a board game form. It’s when you whack a dice with your controller, and that determines how far you move. Along the path are squares that make you gain money (blue), lose money (red), or special surprises (mp2.jpggreen question marks). Also, if you have played other Mario Party’s, you’ll recognize the candy. Some let you hit the dice twice, take other people’s

money, or switch places with someone.
This game is very fun, but only with other people. It can get repetitive if you play with the computer all the time. Usually, the computer loses the minigames. When you play with three friends, it is a lot more fun. This is probably because it is harder to win, and you can hang out with your friends. The game exmp3_(characters).jpgplains the rules and controls every time before the game, which can get annoying, and lets you have a practice round before you try the real thing.
If anyone that is playing wins that is a real person, you are awarded Carnival Cards. They can be used to buy new minigames, characters, or music. This is a nice touch to the game, but I don’t really see a use to have people play a game to get more games. Just let them have the whole thing.
Personally, I would give it a 4/5. Some would give it a 3/5, but it depends on your tastes. This isn’t for hardcore gamers that play shooters or racers; it’s really for casual gamers.

From World War II to Present Day

(Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PS3, and Computer)
cod-1.jpg

The fourth installment of the Call of Duty series takes a leap from World War II to present day. Take the spot of Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish, a soldier of the SAS, and Sergeant Paul Jackson, a part of the United States Marine Corps. Drive vehicles like the deadly AC-130 gunship
The game of Call of Duty 4 has been in the making since Call of Duty 2. Infinity Ward let another company, Activision, take control of Call of Duty 3. It looks like the time was well spent, with jaw-dropping visuals, intense game play, and an array of weapons.
This game is amazing but it’s not the best of the best. The single player campaign is only around a five hour play througcod4-2.jpgh. That is really short compared to the usual 8 hours for first person shooters. But Call of Duty 4 isn’t just about campaign. To make up for the short campaign, the multiplayer is too good for one word to describe it. It ties with Halo 3’s multiplayer. The customization, weapons, and in-game abilities (call in helicopters, airstrikes, etc.) makes the multiplayer matches always different. There is also bullet penetration. It allows you and the enemy shoot through certain surfaces, so you have to choose it as cover or concealment. Then theghillie_suit.jpgre are over 10 multiplayer game types, such as Ground War (pretty much the biggest battle with around 16 people per game) or Search and Destroy (no respawning, destroy or defend the targets)
To wrap it up, Call of Duty 4 would be a 5/5. In other words, a must buy. The campaign may be short, but it is amazing and thrilling. If you are willing to spend sixty bucks for it on the XBOX 360 or PS3 or fifty for the computer version, go ahead and buy it right now. Also, if you have a router, XBOX Live may not work so well for it. Remember to watch past the credits for a special surprise from Infinity Ward.

Time to Save Humanity
In 2007 Bungie Presented Halo3 to the world of gaming. It was a great sell 1M copies the day it was released in stores the fastest pre-ordered game in the history of games. There are over 26 weapons and 25 different vehicles in Halo 3. It is a first person shooter game best of the best. Even Bungie was amazed at there on hard work.
Halo3ReleaseDate.jpg
This is an intense first person shooter game which is rated M for mild language blood, gore and violence but that didn’t stop any kids of any age have bought it. Just as Halo 1 and Halo 2 there is an Xbox live for the game which lets you play and talk to other people around the world in battles for levels ranks and fame. I’ve had the full thrill of Xbox live and I think it is the best Bungie has had yet the graphics are amazing and makes it feel like the world really does depend on the chief. It is a 10/10 game so it is a most buy. You can play as Master Chief or as his fellow partner the Arbiter.

There are many modes for Halo 3 there’s Solo campaign, Coop Campaign, matchmaking, Custom games, Forge, and theater. While in Solo campaign you play solo with you and your men to defend earth from the flood. In coop campaign you can play with friends up to 4 can play in coop mode. In matchmaking it’s for Xbox live only and you can play different games for Ranks or just fun. In custom games you can play your on games on any of the maps with up to 18 people. And Forge 1 of my favorites you can spawn your on weapons vehicles and anything else on the maps. And theater you can go in and watch the games you played to see cool stuff take screen shots get few from different people there.
